I guess I do have something to say after all...

For many years now I have resisted the idea of creating a blog, because, as I told people, I have nothing to say, and besides, no one would want to read it anyway. I have finally come to the point at which I don't really care if anyone reads it; and it turns out that I do have something to say after all.
This blog is the beginning of my commentary on events, politics, and my own personal experiences in the world, as strange and absurd as it may be.
Do I have any expertise, you may ask yourself. And I can say, no, probably not. Perhaps on some subjects.
And so I give you opinions, some justified, others not. I cannot promise to write without bias, since I think that's an impossible goal.

So I will quote Umberto Eco:
"I asked for a lawyer and they gave me an avocado."

Gwen, baby doll - you are an absolute delight! Try to keep this blog spot updated regularly, ok? With pictures. I've told you before that I like to live vicariously through you. How many dialects can you speak now?

Give up grad school and write...actually, give up any kind of a career at all and spend all of your time in lines talking to bureaucrats. That way, the rest of us can sit at home with our humdrum little lives and laugh our asses off, thinking, "at least I didn't have to write my name six times for the future study of train records or the spontaneous ignition of copiously held paper." Looking forward to adventure #2. :)

That is the nicest justification for a blog that I have ever read.
