It's both terrifying and fascinating all at once, because it has such far-reaching consequences. On one side, you have the uptopian ideal, everyone living together in a unified society. On the other side, you have complete isolation, which is actually a torture (sorry, "aggressive interrogation" or whatever they're currently calling it) technique that's used to great effect.
